Best lahmacun in Istanbul close to the action but far enough off of istiklal so it's not crowded with shoppers. Great grilled meats.
⛔️If you are “NOT” Turkish, just don’t ever mind going to this place!⛔️
Reason: I have eaten twice (two days in a row) in this place. I actually thought it is worth eating again here. The second time, however, I just witnessed a weird thing. They have two menus, one with slightly higher prices (20-30 TRY more for literally everything) for tourists and the other one for Turkish people. The menus with higher prices have white labels (saying the restaurant’s name: Baran) on the top left corners so the staff will not be confused while giving them to the customers :D
The first time they thought we are Turkish so we paid less prices for our foods (for instance, 60 TRY for a Lahmacun). The second time they obviously made a mistake by not recognizing us :D and gave us another menu with higher prices (e.g. 90 TRY for a Lahmacun).
After bringing up this with two of the waiters, I could feel the stress in their eyes (LOL). Anyways, at the end they changed our menus with a bunch of ridiculous justifications :D
Come on, I cannot feel comfortable in this city! What just has happened to Turkiye?! Since day one here, I could feel they have been trying to charge tourists for everything. Taxies, restaurants, recreation centers, historical sites, etc.
I’m in love with Turkiye, though it’s really ridiculous that the main financial resource of this country is from tourism, but they hate tourists. Come on! What’s going on with you Turkiye?!
Very good Lahmacun pide and salads.
Service is lacking a little bit, still good enough, but they really could be little bit more welcoming and friendly in my opinion.
This was our first restaurant where we had dinner. The Köfte have been incredible delicious. Ambiente was okay. Would recommend for the price we paid.
Order several items in the menu and share. All the dishes were tasty specially the pide and the kebab that had eggplants with it.
The service is not so good they forgot one of our orders and could not manage to bring food at the same time but since we were sharing that was not a problem for our party.
Be aware there are cats on the seats so if you are allergic double check your seat. People will smoke even in the closed dinning area.
Enjoyed dining here
The food was fresh and tasty
The staff was polite and friendly
The atmosphere was great and price reasonable
Would definitely recommend a visit here
I had a breakfast at this restaurant, I ordered lahmacun and Ayran(yogurt drink) and the food was amazing and tasty. The staff was very friendly and very nice. One of the guys in the restaurant took care of my daughter in order to finish our meal. I can’t thank him enough. Highly recommended
Absolutely delicious food and the best kunefe I tried in Istanbul, it wasn’t too sweat and super crunchy around the edges! Honestly it blew me away. The staff aren’t pushy to get you inside like other places, it’s a relaxed vibe. Don’t hesitate to try this place out, you won’t regret it.
